Some write with a partner, but most of us work alone.
Some writers need company when they work--a coffee shop, a cat, a dog, a roomful of other writers. I need a quiet room, alone. A writer recently told me he works in a bare office with nothing but his notes. No radio, no tv, no distractions of any sort. "Otherwise," he said. "I'd get nothing done!"

I go back and read these books again and again for inspiration. There are smaller pieces here, too, a play, a short story or two. It's good to have a list of your favorites--a cache for tough days.
